25-Week Mobile Crane Operator

Mobile crane operators operate mobile cranes to lift, move, position and place materials and equipment. They perform pre-operational inspections,  calculate crane capacities, determine load weight, and set up, position and stabilize the crane before the lift. Mobile crane operators have the additional responsibilities of disassembling, traveling and transporting mobile cranes.

This pre-employment apprenticeship program is accredited by the Provincial Apprenticeship and Certification Board (PACB) and is offered to individuals seeking a career as a mobile crane operator. Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will be qualified for an entry level mobile crane position.

They will have the skills and knowledge to safely operate as an apprentice, and have the opportunity to progress to Red Seal Certification. Graduates will also obtain a Class 3 Driver’s license with the Air Brakes endorsement (09), and a Class 8 Traction Engine License.
